It had been years since Jack Crossmoor returned to Maine from New England’s only wizarding academy to find his parents dead. The chaos and turmoil...

M.T. LANE
M.T. LANE

M.T. Lane has been an avid reader since an early age. He grew up on series such as The Animorphs by K.A. Applegate and Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. Since then, his tastes in fiction have varied greatly, ranging from classics like The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Woman in White, to the modern such as The Dresden Files and anything by Neil Gaiman.

An attorney by trade, it is sometimes difficult to separate the rather drab, repetitive nature of legal writing from the creative. Still, M.T. Lane finds that as his writing style matures, it bleeds into both. Some of the authors who have most influenced his writing include Donna Tartt, Evelyn Waugh, Jim Butcher and Virginia Wolff.

While having only started his writing journey in 2023, M.T. Lane has self-published one urban fantasy novel, A Murder of Crowes, and drafted two others. He has written several short stories, and dabbled in poetry as well. He is married (his wife shares her name with one of his favorite novels, Rebecca), and has three children (eight, if you include the five cats). You can find him on X, Goodreads, Bookbub, and Amazon. M.T. Lane has been known to blog, albeit sporadically.

The first is, of course, my baby is a toddler now and so writing during the day has taken a backseat to chasing her around. The other reasons are more to do with my writing. I feel like I have...

A Belated Update & New Website Thought I'd christen the new website with

Thought I'd christen the new website with the latest in a short line of sporadic blog posts! If the website looks different, it's because my author site is now being hosted by BookBub! If you do not know what BookBub is, it's a great place to find deals on books, both old and new. It's been, I think, a tremendous boon for indie authors, and I am currently in the midst of running my first ever ad campaign on BookBub (I will have an author page linked soon, it is still processing).

Yes, I have...
